When I first came to Kuala Lumpur for the first time, 4 years ago, I didn’t like it much. I thought it was only the Petronas Tower but guess what? I was absolutely completely wrong. Kuala Lumpur is much more. It is a city that is turning into an international and cosmopolitan hub yet manteining its traditional architecture and culture.
One of the most iconic colonial structure is The Majestic Hotel. Built in 1032, is documented as a national heritage site under the Malasyan Antiquities act.
The Majestic Hotel was an icon of Malaya’s boom years leading to World War II and came to be the place for glamorous social events, government receptions and the residence for prominent prominent international visitors
After closing for few years, The Majestic Hotel was meticulously restored and reopened in 2012. The hotel includes the original hotel Majestic (The Majestic Wing) and the Tower Wing (the new part attached to the original structure). The Hotel now is positioned to share the glamour, heritage and success of its predecessor.
The Majestic Wing
Located within the original historic hotel building, echoing the Art Deco nuances of the hotel.
Every suite is unique with a distinct colonial ambiance. Our suite, The Colonial Suite, made us step back in time where colonial charm endures in the present. Tastefully furnished in Art Deco style and accent ted by rich fabrics and materials. The spacious suite comprising a separate living room and bedroom. For each suite is assigned a Butler who will assist you in anything you may need. A dry cleaning service of 3 pieces per day is included on your room rate as well as access to the boardroom every day for 2 hours and the Club Lounge.
The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur is a member of the Autograph Collection of iconic historic hotels. The hotel is set opposite the striking old Moorish Style Railway station.
The location is known as the historical mile of Kuala Lumpur city centre.
The historical mile feature places of beauty and historical interest like the National Museum, Malayan Railway Station and KTM Headquarters, Sulaiman Building and The Lake Gardens.
The Tower Wing
The new attached building complements the Art Deco style of its historic counterpart with the use of polished chrome and jeweled veneers.
As we always look for original and unique experiences, we decided to stay at the heritage wing. (The Majestic Wing)
The hotel offers excellent dinning options such as The Colonial café, Contengo or the Tea Lounge.
Among others services such as meeting and boardrooms, 2 swimming pools (one located at The Majestic Wing and the other one at The Tower Wing next to the fitness center.
One of my favorite part is The Orchid Conservatory. It showcases a hanging garden and orchids cape within a glass atrium. If you want to have Afternoon Tea here, you must book months in advance.
Other rooms, The Drawing Room or The Smoke House are things that set this hotel apart. And the Spa, located next to the pool at the Majestic Wing, where you can treat yourself after a long day strolling around the city.
