Vacations are pretty great, but unfortunately, we cannot do it as much as we would like due to other obligations such as work.
But figuring out how to have a staycation can be just as rewarding – plus less stressful. If fact, for us this time, it was just what we needed. It felt like we literally went out of the city. Same feeling that when we travel and life in hotels around the world.
If you already don’t know what a staycation is, here is the definition:
Staycation /steɪˈkeɪʃ(ə)n/ (noun): a holiday spent in one's home country rather than abroad, or one spent at home and involving day trips to local attractions.
A staycation is where you have a vacation-like experience without venturing too far from home. Whether you stay in your own city or visit a nearby one, the goal of a staycation is the same as a vacation: To take a break from your day-to-day life. That is exactly what was for us our 2 days gateway to celebrate my best friend 25th Birthday.
Her 25th birthday celebration was the perfect excuse for our little yet perfect staycation, especially if you life and work in a hustle and bustle city like Kinshasa.
We decided to stay at what for us, it is the best 5-star hotel in Kinshasa. But also, we organized a surprised birthday party at the semi-rooftop bar L’Etoile located at the 9th floor of the hotel. It was amazing!
