Recently, I had the amazing opportunity to travel, for the first time, to DR Congo. The Democratic Republic of Congo. It was my first time in what they call “Black Africa” and I loved it!! It has been one of the most incredible times of my life and I can’t wait to go back.
I spent most of the time in the capital city of Kinshasa but on the weekends, we went on a couple gateways to explore the beauty that DRC has to offer.
One of the must visit is the Parc de la vallée de la N’Sele . It is a national park located in the western part of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the municipality of Maluku. It is a protected area dedicated to the conservation of fauna and flora. It is not even one year old. The park opened it’s doors to the public on the 2nd of June, 2018.
It just approximately 90 min away from the city centre so it is perfect for a day trip. The park is huge. When I say huge… I am talking about 18.000 hectares where you can find a wide range of animal species such as giraffes, zebras, black buffaloes, lions…
But Le Parc de la vallée de la N’Sele is not just a conservation park, it is a complete complex that offers sport activities, gastronomy, wildlife and nature sightseeing… everything you need to spend a wonderful day with family and friends.
The park is a heaven of greenery. The ”Kisangani ‘’, the bridge that crossed by the N’sele River, will lead you to a little hike to arrive to the top of the first Zip Line. It is the most stunning one who crossed a few meters from the N’Sele River from the top and you get lost on the greenery. It total 4 Zip lines. It is incredible! 360º of pure nature.
Located on the banks of the N’Sele River, you will find the restaurant where you can enjoy delicious local and international dishes while hearing the water flows.
Imagine yourself surrounding by your family and friends, enjoying a delicious lunch while you look at the beautiful landscape by the river. I don’t thing it gets better than this!
Among the activities you can enjoy are, cycling, kayaking, hiking, zip line, safari. As me, you probably has on your wishlist to do a Safari in Africa, well you can come to N’Sele Valley Park and check it off of your list! If you are not an adventurer you can always chill by the pool.
It is the perfect place to spend a day with family and friend and get out of the bustle and bustle of the city. It’s a tourist paradise for local people and visitors.
