One of the top destination when visiting Philippines is El Nido. It is located at the most northern tip of Palawan Island. It is quite small so we recommend to you spend 3 to 5 days maximum. In fact, El Nido Town itself is not that excited but you can see that has been developing rapidly over the last few years and now you can find good restaurants and healthy and cool cafés.
El Nido town is just the perfect base camp to explore its surrounding by El Nido Island Hopping Tours. So, here is the list of Top Things to do in El Nido.
WHAT TO DO IN EL NIDO PALAWAN
1. El Nido Island Hopping Tour
Bacuit Bay hosts 45 paradise islands and it is a protected area. Bacuit Bay has been named one of the most beautiful destinations in the entire world.
There are 4 different tours you can choose from to explore the bay. Tour A,B,C & D will take you around different island. All of the tours are beautiful. Any of these tours are a MUST-DO when visiting Philippines.
As a protected area, they limit the amount of tourists per day so we recommend you to book your tour in advance. You can do it online here.Book a tour online
This is the unknown beach where all the locals go. It is 2-kilometer long in the far northern tip of El Nido. It is a nice motorbike ride from El Nido Town.
It is a surfing beach with perfect waves for beginner surfers. Surfing lessons as well as surf equipment are available for rent at Duli Beach. There is nothing much at the beach so we recommend you to bring your own food and snacks if you plan to spend the entire day here.
3. Cadlao Island by kayak
Rent a kayak (or a fancy clear kayak) to explore secret beaches around Cadlao island. The island is located just across town and has stunning wildlife.
Please note: in all the islands in Bacuit Bay, taking plastic bottles to the islands is not allowed.
4. Nacpan Beach
Located in the northern tip of El Nido about 45 minute motorbike ride from town, Nacpan Beach is a 4-kilometer Long Beach with coconut trees filling up the entire coastline. There is a beautiful Gampling they recently opened. We wanted to stay for one night to live the experience but it was all sold out. We went for lunch at Sunmai Sunset Restaurant right next to the Glamping.
5. Hike Taraw Cliff
This is the perfect island hoping break. El Nido offers onshore activities like hiking.
Climb up to the highest point of El Nido. It is a 2-hour hike and it is recommended to hire a guide and wear proper shoes before you climb up. The views from the top are worth it. You will have incredible view over the entire area of El Nido.
6. Corong-Corong Beach walk
Another great thing to do in El Nido is walking on Corong-Corong Beach during sunset. It is the quietest beach around town. Take a walk, enjoy the sunset and stop at any of the restaurant you will find along the way for a delicious Filipino dinner.
7. Watch the sunset at Las Cabañas
Las Cabañas Beach is one of the most popular and developed beach in El Nido. It is great for sunbathing, swimming and eat at one of the many beach bars. It is one of the best beach to watch the sunset and our favorite place on this beach is The Birdhouse. If you are into Yoga, book a Sunset Yoga Class. Dine here or Stay in their glam tends.
8. Visit El Nido’s Public Market
One of my favorite things to do. We love to live and mingle with the locals. The market is located near Corong-Corong beach on the side of the main road and every day early in the morning (4 AM) the local market sells fresh fruits, veggies, fish and meat.
